Leeds Hockey Club embarked on a 5 night tour to Holland with their U14s girls team. Holland is one of our top destinations not only for hockey, but also for junior teams. This is down to a combination of exceptional hosting and the holiday park accommodation options. These holiday parks offer junior teams a safe and secure environment to explore with a range of onsite activities.
Their tour began with an overnight ferry crossing, this allowed them to arrive at the Holiday Park at 11 in the morning and have a chance to check in before their first games. Their first tour matches were against local Dutch side MHV DVS. Leeds had brought two teams over so they had two games per club side they faced. After the game the teams all enjoyed some pizzas together before Leeds made their way back to the holiday park.
The following morning the girls had an archery session booked, before their lunch and second round of matches. Today’s games were a mini tournament at Hockey H.O.D. The group said this was a really highlight with some excellent hockey played and amazing hospitality after the game such as singing contests and awards.
On Sunday the team had another day of hockey at MHC DES, before more food and socialising. When the team returned to their holiday park they had an evening of bowling to enjoy.
Monday was their final day in Holland. The girls checked out of the holiday park and spent a few hours exploring Eindhoven. They then boarded their ferry to return home.
