ITINERARY TO HOLLAND
Tour Information
The group were based in one of our popular holiday park in the South of Holland. The park was an ideal base for the group with a range of amenities for players and adults alike. The group were to stay in Holland for 3 nights and enjoy 2 football matches against local Dutch clubs.
Friday 2nd April
The group from the West Midlands were collected by coach form their designated pick up point and transferred to Dover for their short sailing to Calais. Upon arrival in France, they continued their onward journey to the South of Holland. Upon arrival and after settling into their bungalow style accommodation, the players, coaches and supporters had time to explore their surroundings before enjoying a good nights sleep in preparation for the tour to follow!
Saturday 3rd April 2004
The first part of their morning was free to make use of the park’s facilities before the group travelled to their first fixture.
14.30 hrs: HALAS HAWKS FC U14 v FC Vlotburg
Despite the testing weather conditions it was a brilliant game with Halas Hawks winning 5 – 0.
The goals scorers for the tourists were Robbie Hipkiss (2), Scott Williams (2) and James Broadstock (1).
Once the group had enjoyed the company of their hosts they returned to their accommodation to celebrate their victory.
Sunday 4th April 2004
12.30 Hours – HALAS HAWKS FC U14 v FC Viola
This was again a very entertaining game, played in good spirit in front of the traveling teams loyal supporters, with the result going in Halas Hawks favour again. The final score was Halas 3 - VV Viola 2.
The goal scorers for Halas were Robbie Hipkiss (1), James Broadstock (1) and Scott Williams (1) and for VV Viola they were Dirk Huyben (1) and Tuen Van Gorp (1).
Monday 5th April 2004
The journey home included various stops in both Belgium and the CitiEurope near Calais in France to take advantage of the favourable prices before boarding the ferry for their return crossing to continue their onward journey to Halesowen.
The team manager Tony Cox and tour organiser Sharon Simpson commended the players on their behaviour throughout the tour both on and off the sporting field, a sentiment endorsed by Burleigh Travel.
