"On the
second evening we got home quite late after playing hockey and just had
time to have a shower and eat before we went out with Alison and one of
her friends. We went shopping at one of the many malls they have out here.
Afterwards we watched Terminator 3 at the cinema before going back to
bed as still quite tired and jet lagged.
Our last night was spent at Bondi Beach. We went with Alison, one of
her friends, and her brother and two of his friends. We ate at an Italian
restaurant before getting some hot chocolate and going down to the beach
where it was very cold. We quickly met up with some of our friends who
were also spending the evening at Bondi.
The boys then took us to a bar I North Sydney with very nice outdoor heaters
and afterwards we went home and all watched AFL on TV, which was very interesting
as we had never seen it before." |

"We stayed with Siobhan and her Mum Jeany and her older sister. Right
from the start they were both really chatty and loved telling us all about
the school, Sydney and the whole of Australia. Their house was quite small
and modern so we felt very much at home.
In the evening we enjoyed a nice meal then fell straight into bed as we
were both so tired." |
"On the second
day we went to Castle Towers shopping Mall where we ate Chinese Nosh and
spent lots of money!
We spent the last night chatting in our rooms with Siobhan and Max the
puppy and then we watched Charlie's Angels Full Throttle at the cinema,
which was groovy!
We really enjoyed our stay because they took care of us and made sure we
felt at home. We'll be coming back!!" |

"We stayed with Audrey & Rob Hunt and their daughters Amie &
Lauren.
When we arrived we were shown around their house and garden, (all 5 acres
of it!). It had a Mediterranean feel - we were happy to have been sent
to a stylish household.
It was our hosts wedding anniversary and Audrey's birthday so we went out
for a big meal with 30 other people" |
"The restaurant
was part of a larger complex including a bar and nightclub where we watched
a live band. On the second night they booked us appointments to get our
hair cut at Toni & Guy before we went to Bondi for a meal.
Well, our hair looks great, we've been on several shopping trips and spent
an enjoyable but cold night on Bondi Beach!" |

"We stayed with Dianne and Harry Turner & their daughter Emily. We
were very pleased to arrive at black electric gates to find a huge luxurious
house with a swimming pool and horses!
Because we were tired from the journey we got settled in and just chilled
out for the evening. We were in bed by 8pm!!" |
" On our last
night we went riding on Emily's horse and helped her to feed them. We went
out for tea with Emily and her family and another family and drove home
in Harry's fast sports car. |

"We stayed with a very friendly and approachable family who lived in
Castelhill. Our Billets name was Lauren and when we arrived we settled
in immediately.
Jill, Laurens mum, made sure we had everything we needed and gave us
as much food and drink as we wanted.
As they knew we were tired from our flight they showed us to our rooms, we
had one each, both of which had a double bed and were en suite which was
great!" |
 |
On the second
morning we had a delicious breakfast after which Jill dropped us at Lauren's
School, from where we went to the beach and shopped until we dropped!
After our exciting shopping we went home and fell asleep.
After our Olympic Stadium tour, Grant, (Lauren's Dad) took us to the
bank to cash some travellers cheques before we went home and enjoyed a
pasta meal before another early night.
On the last morning we had another wicked breakfast, had our pictures taken
with the family before Jill took us to a Koala Park, which was a lot of
fun. She the drove us to our match and after the game it was time to say
goodbye which was really sad because we didn't want to leave! |

"We stayed with the Amos Family, Mum Debbie, Dad Peter and daughters
Carmen & Hannah. It took us about 30 mins to get to their house and
on the journey we saw the Blue Mountains. The house was really modern
and nice, and was so big that we had a floor to ourselves and didn't have
to share a room, which surprised us!
For tea we had Spaghetti bolognaise and Hannah's home cooked 'mud' Cake.
After tea we watched telly, but were too tired to try out the hot tub!"
|
 |
"On Thursday
night we watched Priscilla Queen of the Desert - it was so funny and we
sat in the hot tub while we watched. For tea we had the biggest prawns
cooked on the BBQ, yummy!
On the Friday night we went out for pizza and then to the cinema - it
was great fun.
On the last morning we had a cooked breakfast before we went to the hockey
match, which we lost 4-0.
For the last few days we've been ourselves in their house and for some reason
they still felt sad to say goodbye to us....why???" |

We stayed with the Carmen family. The Mum Helen and Dad Ross were very welcoming.
They had 3 children; Krystal, Lauren and Christopher, (and Sophie the dog!)
Their house was a 20-minute drive from the school and when we arrived at
the house we were very impressed. It was very modern and big with a swimming
pool and a spa. |
"After a meal
of roast lamb we went to bed as we were all very tired from travelling.
We enjoyed a very relaxed time with our hosts, spending one evening all
sat around the TV in our PJ's watching DVD's with a mug of tea. On the
second evening we had a lovely Pizza meal and took advantage of the early
night to prepare for our match, which paid off as we won!
We have really enjoyed our stay, even though it was relaxed we felt comfortable
and welcome in their house and have already swapped e-mail addresses and
hope to keep in touch.
We love Australia and its culture!" |

"Along with our billets Kirsten and Carla we arrived to find a large
modern house complete with a pool and showers big enough to fit 5 people!!
We were taken to the tavern pub - where we were acquainted with the local
beer and musical talent, (open mic night!) proving billeting is a great
way to experience the Australian culture!" |
" On our last
night our family took us to Bondi which allowed us to see another area
we weren't already visiting. We met up with another family and enjoyed
a meal at a local restaurant.
On the way home we also went on an alternative tour of the City, including
sightseeing in the red light district!!" |

Helen (16) &
Charlotte (16)
"We arrived with our billets on Wednesday 30th July where we were greeted
by Sheri our billet and her mum Janee.
The family were very friendly and provided us with anything we wanted. The
house was very modern and massive with three floors including a gym, pool
table room and movie room. The garden was large with a swimming pool and tennis
courts so there was plenty to keep us occupied." |
" Staying
with Billets lets you see how an Australian family really live - much
better than most hotels.
After a fantastic evening meal on the first night we went straight to
bed as we were very tired. On the second night we visited the local shopping
mall called Castle Towers where we had a good look around and also met
up with some of our friends.
On the last day after we were picked up from Olympic park Janee took
us to see the Kangaroos and Koalas at the Koala Park. The koalas were
so cute and we took lots of photos. We then played tennis and watched
a film in the evening.
It was an amazing experience and we hope to keep in touch with Janee, Travis
and Sherri who made us very welcome." |
