GENERAL INFORMATION

This tour was a major achievement for such a young age group and indeed they were the first U/14’s rugby side to visit the island. The Darton School boys from Barnsley under the guidance of teacher Mr Parkin fund raised throughout the year under the slogan “From Barnsley to Barbados” and the group were a credit to their school.

They opted for a 9-day tour based on the West coast of this friendly Island. They were located in air-conditioned apartments on a complex that has a pool, restaurant, bar, supermarket and evening entertainment. Barbados offers an irresistible mix of laid-back Bajan lifestyle, where the tropical sun is fanned by the trade winds together with a host of sandy beaches dotted along the coastline. Known as “Little England” although the island has enjoyed 30 years of independence a warm welcome is always shown to its British visitors.
