The pupils and teachers of Birkdale Prep School embarked upon a rugby tour to Edinburgh for their 2004 rugby tour.

As a rugby tour destination, Edinburgh has a lot to offer for rugby groups of all ages, with the majestic Edinburgh Castle looking over a wide range of attractions, activities, bars and restaurants sure to cater for every rugby tour's tastes and preferences. The tourists from Birkdale thoroughly enjoyed their time in the Scottish Capital with visits to Murrayfield Stadium for a guided tour of the home of Scottish Rugby and also an enjoyable visit to the local Lazerquest for an action packed evening.

The group travelled with U10 & U11 squads and faced local opposition on two occasions allowing the rich tradition in English - Scottish rivalry to be revisited. The tourists were shown an outstanding welcome by both Linlithgow and Boroughmuir Rugby Clubs and described their rugby encounters as perfect in every way.
