School Rugby Tour to Holland

During their school rugby tour to Holland, the players of Ryde School's U14's & U15's rugby teams from the Isle of White were able to visit the beautiful city of Amsterdam as well as being based for the majority of the tour in the South of the country, which allowed them the chance to visit the exciting Efteling Theme Park; the largest theme park in the Netherlands, which was a trip greatly enjoyed by all of the students.

The school rugby teams played three fixtures during their eight day tour against RC Hilversum, RC Tilburg and ARC The Pigs where the tourists competed well to achieve mainly favourable results and the hospitality shown to the touring rugby sides was its usual high standard, now a trade mark of the Dutch game.

The group were based in a holiday park style accommodation, which had on site ten pin bowling alley and a swimming pool that were regular used during their free time! The park are very welcoming towards touring school rugby teams; a factor which added to their enjoyment of the total tour experience.

This was the second rugby tour Ryde School arranged with Burleigh Travel and they have enquired for other sports in subsequent years to build on this excellent touring relationship; a true endorsement of the Burleigh Travel service.
