Friday 22nd July 2005
This will be a free day to take in the many sites and sounds of Ottawa, Canada's capital city.

The group had the opportunity to take in the atmosphere of this cosmopolitan city by enjoying such attractions as a boat trip along the Rideau Canal or simply unwinding in one of the areas many pavement café bars.
A visit to the world famous Byward Market, together with a visit to one of Canada's most recognisable heritage sites, the Parliament buildings, was also highly recommended.
In the evening the group took in an American Football match where the local team the Ottawa Renegades were taking on fellow Canadian opposition

THE CAPITALS NETBALL MINI TOURNAMENT
At midday, the footballers were transferred to St. Patrick's School to enjoy and support the netball players during their tournament. After watching a few matches, they moved onto their final fixture of the tour against Cumberland United Football Club.
WIDNES & RUNCORN 6TH FORM COLLEGE FOOTBALL TEAM vs CUMBERLAND UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB
Before the end of the game, the netball players had finished their tournament and had arrived to witness their fellow tourists claim victory against their hosts in what was an extremely enjoyable match.
The whole touring party then travelled to Petrie Island, a local man made beach where Cumberland United laid on a BBQ for the entire touring party. I would like to pass on the thanks of Widnes & Runcorn 6th Form College and Burleigh Travel to Cumberland United Football Club for this gesture as it proved to be one of the highlights of the tour for many of the tourists.
