NETBALL TOUR TO EASTERN CANADA
Tour Information
This 15-day netball tour to Canada saw the group visit three of Canada's spectacular destinations; Toronto, Ottawa and Niagara.
Toronto
Their first base for the netball tour was Toronto, Canada 's largest city, situated in accommodation within walking distance of the cities many attractions, which include the CN Tower, the Rogers Centre ( formerly the Skydome Stadium) and The Eaton Centre.


Ottawa

The tour then moved onto the countries capital Ottawa famous for its Parliament buildings, Byward market, and the historic Rideau Canal.
Niagara

The netball tour finished in Niagara, home of the Magnificent Falls where a trip on the 'Maid on the Mist' is a must. While justifiably famous for the Falls, the resort has much more to offer, with attractions such as the Whirlpool Jet Boat on Lake Niagara.
Friday 15th July 2005
The netball tour began at Manchester Airport on a Friday morning where the group assembled to board their flight to Toronto . Upon arrival the group were transferred by coach to their Downtown accommodation and once checked in the remainder of the day; at least while they could stay awake, was spent gaining their bearings and settling in to the accommodation.
Saturday 16th July 2005
After breakfast the group were collected by coach from their hotel and transferred to the Paramount Wonderland Theme park. Here the day was spent at leisure enjoying the 200+ attractions and 60+ rides the park has to offer and relaxing in the sunshine.
In the evening, the group enjoyed a meal at the world famous Wayne Gretzky Sports bar and restaurant, home to the Ice Hockey Legend's personal memorabilia collection.
Sunday 17th July 2005
After breakfast, the netball players departed their accommodation by coach and travelled to nearby Darcel Community College for their first taste of Canadian Netball while the footballers enjoyed a relaxing morning in preparation for their fixture later that day.

Once the netball was over and the usual post match pleasantries complete, the netball players returned to their accommodation and spent the afternoon at the nearby Olympic Spirit Museum, the worlds first and only entertainment complex themed entirely around the Olympics.
The museum features a Long Jump Simulator which through the aid of a flying fox allows you to recreate Bob Beaman's historic leap, a sprint simulator to test yourself against the fastest athletes in the world, a Bobsleigh Push, a Bobsleigh Simulator, films, displays and other activities.
Whilst the netball players were enjoying the Olympic Museum, the footballers were taking part in their first match of the tour against East York Football club.
