Tour Information
The touring party were based in the historic city of Gloucester with its renovated dockland area. Their Hotel was centrally located and close to numerous bars and clubs which were regularly frequented.
Cricket is popular in the County and the group enjoyed two matches during their weekend long tour, both played in picturesque locations and under a friendly atmosphere.
Friday 20th August
The group gathered at their club in Northamptonshire where they were met by their coach and transferred to Gloucester. Once they had settled into their accommodation the celebrations began and the Gloucester nightlife provided the entertainment for the tourists into the early hours.
Saturday 21st August
For some the partying continued until early next morning as some of the group decided to keep going to watch the coxless four Olympic rowing race, coming live from Athens. Once the race was over and perhaps a little sleep allowed, the group made the short journey to nearby Stroud for their first fixture.

Heyford CC emerged victorious by the narrowest of margins and the visitors enjoyed excellent hospitality.
Man of the match awards were made to both teams with presentation shields awarded by Burleigh Travel. The recipient for Densons was their opening batsman after making an impressive score.

It was obviously a day for the batsman as it was another who was awarded the man of the match for the Heyford team who's innings was crucial in securing victory for the tourists.
Sunday 22nd August
Once the Saturday night hangover was beginning to clear the group were on their way to their second match venue. The tourists were narrowly beaten on this occasion but were extremely pleased to play the match as the weather had threatened to prevent the game taking place.

Pictured (left) is the Burleigh Travel man of the match for the second fixture for an impressive bowling spell after having opened the bowling for Heyford.
Once the usual after match festivities and tour traditions had taken place, the group boarded their coach and began their return journey to Northamptonshire.
