GENERAL TOUR INFORMATION
The group enjoyed a two-centre tour using Durban and Cape Town as their bases. Each venue offered a variety of pastimes, in addition to a high standard of rugby.
In addition to this the group also visited the Mkuzi game reserve which also allowed them to see wild animals in their natural habitat, and was an unforgettable experience of what is South Africa 's most popular attraction.
Durban
Durban boasts a sub tropical carnival atmosphere with an endless summer (approx 20 °C), an effervescent ocean lined with miles of golden sand and a multitude of recreational options. The Golden Mile in Durban offers a variety of restaurants, coffee bars and on a classical note, concert halls, theatres and art galleries. There are also a number of water and theme parks to keep the players occupied.
Cape Town
Cape Town , with its majestic Table Mountain backdrop maintains its reputation for friendly hospitality and is one of the most beautiful cities in the World. A cable car trip up Table Mountain is a must during your stay, whilst a visit to the lively entertainment centre of the restored Victoria and Alfred Waterfront is also popular.
Thursday 5th August 2004
The tour began at Heathrow Airport on a Thursday evening where the group assembled to board their flight to Durban.
Friday 6th August 2004
After a swift transfer to their hotel, which was situated on the impressive 'Golden Mile' the group were soon settled in and looking forward to the first leg of their tour.
In the evening, the group watched a local rugby fixture between the Natal Sharks and the Eagles played at the ABSA Stadium in what was an exciting atmosphere. Local fans were pleased to see the Sharks take the spoils with an exciting 26 - 17 victory.
Saturday 7th August 2004
The morning was free where time was spent relaxing on the beach opposite the hotel, before the tourists prepared for their first taste of South African Rugby:

Both teams performed admirably in what was a closely contested game which saw the South African's out do their guests by a converted try.
After the game the team enjoyed the usual post match pleasantries and enjoyed time in each others company.
