Tour Information

In 1993 Antwerp was awarded the "European City of Culture" in recognition of the variety of fascinating medieval buildings within its old city.

Antwerp also boasts a chic new waterfront development, which plays host to a promenade of restaurants and bars.

After dark, this vibrant city takes on the role as Belgium’s capital of nightlife, with its open all hours terrace cafes, jazz bars, discos and nightclubs.

Friday 28th May 2004

The group gathered at their club in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire where they were met by their coach and transferred to Dover for the short crossing to Calais.

Once in France, the group continued by coach to Antwerp.

They settled into their accommodation just in time to let the the celebrations begin where the Antwerp nightlife provided the entertainment into the early hours.

Saturday 29th May 2004

After the group enjoyed breakfast at their hotel, the morning was spent at leisure where there was the opportunity to take in some of the sights of central Antwerp and enjoy a spot of lunch before they were met by their coach and transferred to their fixture:

14.00 Hrs - MOLLY BLOOMS FC MINI TOURNAMENT

The fixture took the form of a small tournament featuring two teams from Antwerp along with Swindon Village Rovers FC and another Burleigh Travel touring side.

The tournament was enjoyed by the tourists and once the matches were completed at around 18.00 hrs, light refreshments were served and an end of tournament presentation was enjoyed.

The group were then transferred to their hotel to drop off their kit bags before travelling on to the Molly Blooms Pub for the post match festivities from where they were free to continue the celebrations into the night.

Sunday 30th May 2004

Once the Saturday night hangover was beginning to clear and those who managed to make breakfast had done so, the group were able to enjoy a free day in Antwerp before they prepared for their final night of the tour.

Monday 31st May 2004

The final morning of the tour was again free before the group departed their accommodation and made their way to Calais for their return ferry crossing.

They did however have time to visit one of the popular Hyper Markets in Calais to take advantage of the favourable prices.

After boarding their ferry and enjoying the short sailing to Dover, they continued their homeward journey to Cheltenham to complete their tour.
