It was time to
say goodbye to Toronto and make the 5-6 hour journey to Ottawa, Canada’s
capital City by luxury air conditioned coach.
Once all had settled into their rooms in the Quality Hotel, the
remainder of the day was left free for sightseeing or relaxing.

In the evening, the group
were transferred to The St Giles Presbyterian Church for their second
concert of the tour. This was a joint performance with the Osgoode
Township Male Voice Choir. Prior to the concert both choirs met
for the first time to rehearse their joint numbers and prepare for
the performance.

Afterwards the group enjoyed
a reception kindly prepared by the Osgoode choristers. I would like
to pass on the thanks of Tonna MVC and add the thanks of Burleigh
Travel for all the effort and work undertaken by the Osgoode Township
Male Choir in hosting this event.

THURSDAY 8TH APRIL
2004 This morning was free to allow the group to visit
the bustling Byward Market which was within walking distance from
their hotel. Alternatively a boat trip along the famous Rideau Canal
might have been their choice. The evening was also free to enjoy
a meal in one of the capitals many fine restaurants.

FRIDAY
9TH APRIL 2004
The group again enjoyed a free day until early evening when they
were transferred to the City View United Church for their third
performance. As this was another joint performance time was required
to rehearse and prepare for the joint numbers with the Ottawa Welsh
Choral Society.
Thanks must be passed to the host choir for their assistance in
staging the event and also to the audience for the manner in which
the concert was accepted. The concert was an ideal way to round
off their stay in Ottawa.
