Barbados is an ideal place to let the world pass you by and the group’s
hotel was an ideal setting to relax in the sun with the powder white
beaches and warm blue Caribbean sea on their doorstep. The group enjoyed
numerous day’s relaxing around the pool and utilising the hotels
activity program especially the beach volley ball and feeding the
fish on the hotels beach. Morning yoga sessions on the beach arranged
by the staff accompanying the group also began each day and became
popular with the group and other hotel guests.
FUN IN THE SUN.....
One of the most
enjoyed activities the group undertook whilst in Barbados was their
numerous visits to the Boatyard, an all inclusive beach club close
to the girls resort where you can enjoy activities such as kayaking,
water trampolining, beach volley ball or alternatively you can relax
and soak up the sun in safe and secure surroundings.
Some of the group also enjoyed
a trip on the Jolly Roger a fun day sailing the seas with opportunity
for snorkelling and swimming before its party time during the return
sailing.
NEW FRIENDS…..
One of the best things about travelling on sports tours is the people
you meet and the strengthening of existing friendships you have. Hopefully
some of the Widnes Players will get a chance to travel to Barbados
again with Burleigh Travel to renew those friendships and friendly
rivalries.
PRIZE WINNERS…..
Throughout the tour certain individuals excelled during the various
matches played. Burleigh Travel donated presentation shields that
were awarded to the player of the match for each of the 10 games played
during the tour. Pictured below are the outstanding players from the
first matches played against Philip’s Angels N.C. along with
Rob Morris from Burleigh Travel who accompanied the group. Pictured
right are the prize winners from the second fixtures played against
Dicksons R.C. N.C. and The Police Girls Club N.C.
