Bristol RFC Colts travelled to South Africa for their rugby tour in 1996 on Burleigh Travels inaugural rugby tour to the country. The group visited Durban and Cape Town, travelling via the Garden Route from Port Elizabeth. The highlight of their rugby tour being that their second rugby fixture of four was played against the Eastern Province Rugby Union and was a curtain raiser for the tour match between Eastern Province and the All Blacks.
