Trafford RFC toured to the Algarve in Portugal for their rugby tour in May 2000 on the back of successful rugby tours to Canada and Benidorm in the two preceding seasons. The group participated in the successful Loulé rugby tournament which saw them compete with their hosts Loulé RC, touring teams from across Europe and other teams from the UK travelling with Burleigh Travel. The lively ‘Strip’ in Albuferia also provided the group with a wealth of evening entertainment.
