Lille, located just 1 ½ hours from Calais, is a vibrant city of just over 1 million inhabitants. The European Capital of Culture for 2004, it boasts an eclectic mix of culture, history and modern living. A strong sporting tradition, along with the short travel time from the port, make Lille an ideal tour.
Paris, ranked among the top three most important and influential cities in the World in 2009 and 2010 is one of the World’s leading cultural centres. Combined with a strong tradition for sport and possible trips to Disneyland Paris and the Eiffel Tower, this is sure to provide a memorable touring destination.
Biarritz, the centre of the French ‘hot-bed of rugby’, may allow for a visit to a professional match involving Biarritz or one of the many other top local sides. A round of golf is recommended at ‘La Phare’ course, as is a trip to the white water rafting rapids in the nearby Pyrenees Mountains after which tourists travelling on senior rugby tours may wish to indulge in the Casino Municipal and ‘Le Flamingo’ nightclub. Toulouse is home of the magnificent Stade Toulousain and a rugby obsessed culture. Situated in the heart of Southern France, the city is located on the banks of the Garonne, exactly half way from the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean.
