Dublin is a vibrant and buzzing cosmopolitan city that also has a wonderfully small feeling, with cobbled streets and local pubs. Dublin continues to be a hugely popular destination for senior sports tours, offering a fantastic long weekend with renowned hosting and hospitality from our local clubs. Heyford CC tour 25 players on an unforgettable 3 night tour to Dublin, with two fixtures and plenty of Guinness.
The team met at their local pub to board their coach and travel to Holyhead where they got the ferry over to Dublin. Arriving in the evening they had the chance to explore a few of the local watering holes.
The following day they had some time to explore Dublin before an afternoon T20 fixture against Ashbourne Taverners CC. They recorded their first tour win, and spoke very highly of the hospitality their received.
Their next game was the following day against Bagenalstown CC. This was a 40 over match, and unfortunately Heyford couldn’t maintain an unbeaten tour record and lost this game. They blamed it on to much “black tea!” the night before. Again they commented on how friendly and welcoming Bagenalstown were and enjoyed a few drinks after the game.
Sunday was their final day of tour. They had the morning and early afternoon to fit in the last bits of sightseeing before boarding the coach and heading to the ferry.
