Malta is wonderful destinations for tours. With some of the best snorkelling in Europe, a buzzing nightlife, gorgeous capital city and countless historical sites it has something for everyone. Nottingham University discovered this during their 7 night cricket tour. They were recommended to us by the tour organiser from the University’s tour in 2015 and it was wonderful to hear that we not only matched, but exceeded their expectations.
“Having been recommended to use Burleigh Travel by previous tour organisers, I expected good things, and was not disappointed. All members of staff were on the same wavelength meaning everyone at the company was very helpful and knew where we were in the process, making it as smooth as possible. Every task we asked of you was completed promptly and excellently – we have no complaints at all about Burleigh Travel and would recommend you to anyone organising a sports tour.
In terms of the tour itself, the hotel itself was perfectly fine for our needs – a decent 3 star with good facilities (rooftop pool and bar and separate restaurant). The standard of the rooms were good for what it was. We were on the half board basis, with both meals being very adequate. There was a large quantity and a wide range of choice at the buffet.
As a party, we would highly recommend visiting the city of Valletta, even if it is just to wander around for an hour or so. There is some stunning architecture, and it is a lovely place for a drink or lunch. If you have more time to spare, Fort St Elmo is definitely worth a visit- it houses the Malta National History Museum, which is absolutely fascinating.
Another day trip we booked whilst we were out there was a Captain Morgan cruise to Comino and Gozo. We went on their Fernandes All Day Cruise which was rather choppy on the way out, but definitely worth it as the scenery at the Blue Lagoon is unbeatable.
I will recommend Burleigh travel to anyone looking to do a sports tour, and especially the next Tour Sec of Nottingham University Cricket Club. Unfortunately, I will not be organising the next tour, but I can say it has been a pleasure dealing with you, and thank you for your hard work in making this a memorable end to my own university life, and also to many others.”
