Doncaster Rovers FC took 17 of their academy players on a 3 night tour to Lille in Northern France. Lille is a great location for a sports tour since its recent transformation into a cultural and commercial hub. The old town is a joy to explore, while there are some fantastic shops and restaurants to visit. 

The team met on Friday morning and boarded their coach to Dover for the short crossing over to France. Lille is just an hour and a half from Calais, and the team arrived in the early afternoon. This gave them plenty of time to check in and explore the local surroundings. 

The following morning was free for the team to explore and enjoy some of the hotel’s fantastic facilities such as gym, pool table & outdoor swimming pool. Boarding their coach after lunch they travelled to play AMS Lensoise. After a great football game they were treated to some great hospitality.

The game on Sunday was a morning kick off against Iris Club Lambersart. This was another great game, and Doncaster were particularly impressed with their facilities. After some more post match hospitality the afternoon and evening were free to get in the last sightseeing.
