Armed Forces Netball Tour to Barbados: Army Medical Services NC

The Army Medical Services netball team have just returned from an unforgettable netball tour to the beautiful Caribbean island of Barbados. They spent 7 days in Barbados with 3 netball matches per team (they had taken over two sides) and a range of trips. Barbados is the perfect location for a netball tour, and it sounds like they found out why.

Flying out from London on Sunday morning they touched down in the early afternoon, where their coach met them and took them to their hotel. They had the rest of the day to enjoy the beach and explore the local area. They had the next day free to acclimatise and beach and pool.

After a relaxing morning on Tuesday the coach picked the team up from their hotel for their first netball fixture against local side Clapham Blitz NC. They would be playing two games about the Blitz’s A and B sides. Our tourists won both games, commenting on the great level of netball they faced. The following day was much the same, with a chilled out morning before some late afternoon matches. Again the tourists were victorious after some great netball. They had the chance to spend some time with their opposition before heading back from some post match celebrations.

Thursday was a free day for the team to head to the Boat Yard, a beach based activity centre with inflatable’s in the water, snorkelling, rope swings, and a range of other activities. This is always one of the most highly recommended trips in Barbados, and is suitable for all ages, with bars and resturants on the beach.

The last netball matches were on Friday afternoon where the teams faced off against Wolverine NC and the Barbados Defence Force NC. It was then time to go out and enjoy some of Barbados’s famous nightlife.

To mark their final day in Barbados we had booked a Catamaran cruise, which as they found out, is our most highly rated and recommended excursion. They spent the day sailing around the island, with a complimentary bar and food, stopping off at different locations to go swimming. The feedback was that this was an amazing experience.
