Reading RFC took 32 players on a social rugby tour over to Dublin in May for a end of season blow out. Dublin is a fantastic destination for rugby tours with a buzzing nightlife, hospitable clubs and some fantastic excursions (such as a tour of the Guinness Factory).

The team met at their club house early on Thursday morning, where they were met by their coach which took them to Holyhead ferry port. After the short crossing and transfer they checked into their hostel at around 6, and had the rest of the evening free to explore the local bars and clubs. 

They were up and ready to go again the next day with some free time in the day to fit in some sightseeing. Their coach picked them up in the evening for their first fixture of the tour against local rugby club Coolmine RFC in an 7pm KO. This would have been a great experience for the lads in itself, but playing an evening fixture under lights made it extra special! 

The game was closely contested but, unfortunately for the touring team, Coolmine claimed victory. After a well fought game the two teams enjoyed some brilliant post match beers, with Reading commenting on how well hosted they were! Their coach then transferred them back to their accommodation for a night out in Dublin!

Day 3 of the tour and the group woke up with sore heads ready for their midday fixture with local side Malahide RFC. The combination of not a lot of sleep and one too many Guinness resulted in their second defeat of the tour, but no enthusiasm was lost and once the game was finished they were back enjoying the famous Irish hospitality.

After making their way back to their accommodation they had their final night out in Dublin before catching the ferry home the following day.
