General Rugby Festival Information
The Bournemouth Girls Festival is one of our newest rugby events and will look to offer your team an unforgettable weekend at our most popular event. The boys festival sells out each year with well over a hundred teams playing over the weekend.
The festival will take place on the Sunday of your weekend on the Dorset coast. The event itself is conveniently scheduled to take place during the school Easter break to guarantee the maximum uptake form your club.
Your accommodation is at the popular Sandford Holiday Park which has plenty of onsite amenities to keep your group entertained! These include a heated indoor pool, tennis, table tennis, short mat bowls, crazy golf, multisport court for basketball and football, 2 outdoor play areas with a climbing wall and amusement arcade with Tenpin Bowlingo! The parks also offer a variety of restaurants and evening entertainment.
Your Rugby Tour Itinerary
Friday 17th April 2020
You will depart your club and travel by coach to your accommodation. Check in is available from 4pm however the onsite facilities such as the indoor pool will be available throughout the day. The remainder of the day and night free to explore the park and use your leisure and entertainment passes.
The Burleigh Travel reception party has now become a legendary event to help the tour organiser and their coaches kick off their weekend in style, and will give you a chance to meet up, and socialise with the representatives from the other touring teams and to meet the Burleigh Travel Staff while enjoying complimentary food and drink.
The remainder of the evening will be free to enjoy the onsite entertainment with your fellow touring teams.
Saturday 18th April 2020
You will have to day to explore the local area, or enjoy the holiday parks activities.
We would recommend a visit to Bournemouth's famous beach. Stretching over 7 miles, this golden sandy beach is one of the most popular UK beaches. Its Pier gives you stunning views across the bay, framed by the Isle of Wight on one side and the Purbeck hills on the other, Bournemouth Pier also boasts a wide and varied selection of attractions, entertainments and retail outlets. There is also an Oceanarium and play park. If you don't fancy sitting on the beach all day you can rent bikes or surf boards.
Sunday 19th April 2020
You will make your way to Oakmeadians Rugby Club for the rugby festival, where your team will play against local and touring teams. The festival format will aim to offer your players as much rugby as they are allowed to play in a one day festival in line with RFU guidelines. There will be food available throughout the day and once the tournament is complete and prizes awarded you will return to your accommodation to continue your celebrations.
Monday 20th April 2020
After checking out of your accommodation the day is free to make the most of the parks facilities, before you begin your journey home.
