Girls Football Tour to the Gothia Cup
During their week long football tour to Sweden to participate in the prestigious Gothia Cup Football Tournament, the players of East End Blizzard Football Club from Aberdeen were able to enjoy Sweden’s second largest city at its most beautiful time, with it’s warm sea breezes, flowering parks and sparkling canals.
The Gothia Cup was the main focus for the tour and is one of the worlds largest youth football tournaments, attracting more than 1500 teams each year. This is a truly global event with teams having participated from 127 different counties over the years. It is played in a spirit of unity and friendship which, combined with the locals legendary hospitality, always makes for a memorable event.
The young footballers from Aberdeen entered the Under Fifteen Junior Girls section of the competition and were successful in winning all of their group matches and went on to compete in the knock out stages of the main competition.
