Uckfield RFC Colts took a 40 players, coaches and parents on a brilliant 3 night rugby tour to Toulon. During their trip they enjoyed two fixtures against local French teams and were able to watch one of Europe’s most famous rugby teams in action; RC Toulon!
The group set off from Gatwick airport on Friday evening, arriving at their hotel in France at around 8pm. They then had the evening to settle in and explore the local area.
The next morning was free for a chance to explore Toulon before an after match against RC du Pays Six Fournais. This was a well fought match with the hosts coming out on top 21-14.
On Sunday the second fixture was a little earlier so they set off just after breakfast to play Marseille Huveaune Rugby. This was another close encounter which finished in a 21-21 draw! After the final whistle a massive paella was served outside for both teams to enjoy some post match hospitality.
After the food they made the short trip to the Stade Velodrome in Marseille to watch RC Toulon v Stade Toulousain.
The following day the team checked out after breakfast and headed home after en exciting couple of days.
