Benidorm is located on Spain’s ‘Costa Blanca’ (White Coast) which is famed for it’s stunning beaches and fantastic nightlife. The Benidorm 7s is a popular rugby festival that attracts teams from all over Europe. Wetherby RFC took over 22 players and supports for a 3 night tour.

The team flew out from Manchester on Friday and had the evening to enjoy Benidorm’s famous nightlife. The following day was day 1 of the tournament. Their coach picked them up at lunch time and took them to the venue. The team had a number of matches on the first day, and could enjoy the tournament atmosphere throughout the day. The guys commented on how well looked after they were (and all the free stuff they received!). After the rugby the guys had another chance to explore Benidorm’s bars and clubs.

Sunday was the second day of rugby, which moved into the finals. There was a BBQ and music at the grounds after the final match to celebrate, and then the ‘After Sevens’ party at the ‘Heart Break Pub’ which kicked off at midnight. 

The flight home wasn’t until the evening to give the guys a chance to fit in their last bit of sightseeing (and to recover from the after party!)
