University Cricket Tour to St. Lucia
During their university cricket tour to St. Lucia, the players of Nottingham University CC were able to experience many different cultures with some good competitive cricket. St. Lucia used to be known as “Helen of the West Indies” due to the islands change of ownership between Great Britain and France with many of its British characteristics still in place today.
The group enjoyed five competitive cricket fixtures while on their cricket tour winning three and losing two. They also managed to play a game at the now famous Beausejour Stadium, one of the premier cricket stadiums in the West Indies and used during the 2007 Cricket World Cup and the 2010 Cricket World T20 Cup. The boys enjoyed a catamaran cruise along the island’s West Coast which enabled them to take in some of the stunning scenery that St. Lucia has to offer. During their cricket tour, the players enjoyed a deep sea fishing trip as well as a number of days relaxing on the beautiful beaches. There was even time to experience the variety of nightlife available in the Rodney Bay area of this beautiful island.
