The early May Bank Holiday is an extremely popular weekend for rugby tours at the end of the rugby season. 2020 sees the date of this Bank Holiday change to Friday 8th May to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day and we are pleased to announce two brilliant rugby festivals for this long weekend allowing you to make the most out of your tour with three full days of fun now that the RFU have extended the season to include this weekend.

The VE Day Mini & Junior Rugby Festival is a great opportunity to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day and to remember the sacrifices made by the fallen to allow us to take part in these brilliant weekends & play together in such an amazing sport. The South Yorkshire Challenge is designed to create a touring experience like no other! Teaming up with the Dearne Valley Activity Centre and Doncaster RFC (U13 – U16) or at the established Dinnington RFC Mini’s Festival (U7-U12), both events is aimed at delivering a weekend that bonds your team and develops your players both on and off the pitch.

Both these events will offer your team a unique & unforgettable rugby tour experience with memories that will last for a life time!
The South Yorkshire Rugby Challenge
Date: 8th – 10th May 2020
Location: South Yorkshire, Doncaster
Age groups: U7 – U16

The South Yorshire Challenge will offer your team an experience like no other combining exhilarating team building activities and an action packed day of rugby, at nearby Doncaster RFC (U13 – U16) or at the established Dinnington RFC Mini’s Festival, (U7-U12) against both local and touring teams and taking advantage of the RFU extension to the 2020 season for an extra weekend of rugby!

You will be staying at Dearne Valley which is located in the beautiful rolling hills of South Yorkshire. This fantastic state of the art activity centre is spread over 50 acres of grass and woodland; and during your tour you will have the opportunity to enjoy a range of challenging apparatus such as zip lines, climbing walls, high ropes and a leap of faith. All of these activities take place in a safe and secure environment, under the supervision of qualified staff, all of which are included for the players in your tour package!

The whole weekend is tailored to give your players a unique team building experience. You will never have experienced a sports tour quite like this!

The VE Day Mini & Junior Rugby Festival is one of Burleigh Travel’s newest and exciting mini & junior rugby event. It is a great opportunity to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day and to remember the sacrifices made by the fallen to allow us to take part in these brilliant weekends & play together in such an amazing sport.

The weekend is located in Ashford, Kent at the former mannor house Grosvenor Hall, here we have designed a weekend that will give your team a tour to remember offering you a combination of exhilarating team building activities and an action packed day of rugby, at Ashford Rugby Club, competing against both local and touring teams and taking advantage of the RFU extension to the 2020 season for an extra weekend of rugby!

During your tour you will have the opportunity to enjoy a range of challenging activities that take place in a safe and secure environment under the supervision of qualified staff, as well as an indoor heated swimming pool and a 25,000 sq ft sports hall which caters for a wide range of indoor activities; all of which are included for the players in your tour package!
