Customer Satisfaction

At Burleigh Travel, customer satisfaction and service quality sit at the heart of everything we do. We understand that organising a tour for young people is a significant responsibility, and we take that responsibility seriously at every stage of the journey — from initial enquiry through to post-tour feedback.

Our long-standing reputation has been built on trust, transparency, and consistently delivering high-quality rugby tour experiences for clubs across the UK.

A Proven Track Record You Can Trust

An important consideration when choosing a tour provider is how established the company is.

Burleigh Travel was established in 1998, meaning we have been arranging rugby tours for almost 30 years. This makes us one of the longest-standing providers and recognised market leaders in mini and junior rugby tours.

In a market where new operators appear regularly — and often disappear just as quickly — longevity matters. Experience brings stability, proven processes, and the confidence that your tour is being managed by a company with deep industry knowledge.

We always encourage clubs to check a company’s background via Companies House, where you can confirm:

  • The year the business was established
  • That accounts are up to date
  • There are no strike-off actions or warnings

Transparency is an essential part of trust.

Independent Customer Feedback & Reviews

We are extremely proud of the feedback we receive from clubs, coaches, and organisers.

  • 250+ five-star Trustpilot reviews
  • 130+ five-star Google reviews

These reviews come from clubs very similar to your own and provide an honest reflection of the service, support, and tour experience you can expect from Burleigh Travel.

We recommend being cautious of any provider that lacks a strong volume of recent, independent reviews, or does not have a presence on platforms such as Trustpilot or Google Reviews.

Customer Satisfaction Survey Results

Beyond public review platforms, we regularly gather feedback directly from our customers.

From our most recent customer satisfaction surveys:

  • Over 98% of groups stated we met or exceeded their expectations
  • 77% of groups said we exceeded their expectations

These results give us confidence that our standards are being consistently met — and, more importantly, that clubs continue to trust us year after year.

Our Approach to Quality Assurance

Quality assurance at Burleigh Travel is not a box-ticking exercise. It is an ongoing process that includes:

  • Careful selection of accommodation, venues, and suppliers
  • Clear communication before and during tours
  • Experienced staff with in-depth rugby tour knowledge
  • Structured post-tour feedback to support continuous improvement

We believe that listening to our customers and acting on constructive feedback is key to maintaining high standards and delivering exceptional tour experiences.

Looking Ahead

Like many businesses, the Covid period presented unprecedented challenges for the travel industry. While historic reviews from that time do not reflect our current operations or service standards, we remain focused on moving forward positively, learning from the past, and continuing to improve.

We are always open to constructive ideas and new initiatives and look forward to expanding our customer engagement and quality assurance processes further in the year ahead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Burleigh Travel is a specialist sports tour operator designing tailor-made trips for schools, colleges, universities, clubs, women’s teams and Forces sides. Our team blends travel expertise with genuine sporting knowledge, so fixtures, facilities and logistics make sense for your squad. With over 30 years of experience in organising sports tours, Burleigh Travel has built a reputation for reliability, quality, and personal service. We build end-to-end sports tour packages—from destination advice and opposition matching to accommodation, transport and memorable off-field experiences. Whether you’re planning rugby, football, hockey, netball, cricket or multi-sport tours, we shape each itinerary around your dates, budget and objectives. Expect clear communication, practical guidance and responsive support from enquiry to safe return. Above all, we believe a great sports tour should be simple to organise, competitive on the pitch and unforgettable for players, parents and staff.
We take your brief—sport(s), dates, numbers, aims and budget—and turn it into a detailed, realistic plan. That includes destination recommendations, appropriately matched fixtures, training time, sensible travel windows and rest days. We book group-appropriate accommodation, arrange transport (flights if required, transfers and local coach hire) and suggest excursions that suit your group. You’ll receive a transparent quote and a day-by-day itinerary covering meet points, KO times and contact details. Before departure we issue final travel documents and practical tips for kit, hydration and supervision. During the tour, we remain available to help with local adjustments. Our job is to remove admin headaches so coaches and teachers can focus on player welfare and performance.
Sport is our focus—not an add-on. We build tours around your playing standard, format preferences and development goals, then use trusted club and school networks to secure balanced fixtures and suitable venues. Our 30 years of experience working exclusively in sports travel means we understand the fine details that make the difference—competitive balance, smooth logistics and genuine value. Our proposals are practical: realistic coach hours, appropriate rooming, and contingency thinking. You’ll see clear inclusions and exclusions, options for training blocks, festival days or pro-club visits, and guidance on safeguarding and risk. We also help with the small things that matter—equipment storage, meal timing, recovery time and local know-how. The result is a tailor-made sports tour that feels organised, competitive and great value, delivering the right balance of sport, culture and team bonding for your group.
Safeguarding underpins our planning. We propose age-appropriate accommodation, practical transfer times and clear supervision structures, then provide rooming lists, medical/dietary templates and emergency contacts. Risk support includes example assessments and sensible contingency notes for fixtures and excursions. For flight-inclusive packages, arrangements are made with licensed providers and the appropriate consumer protections under UK regulations apply. Before you travel, you’ll receive a comprehensive tour pack with confirmed timings, venue details and local guidance. On tour, our coordinators remain on hand should plans need adjusting. The aim is straightforward: create a safe, well-structured environment where pupils and players enjoy meaningful competition while staff feel supported from start to finish.
We work with schools, colleges, universities, clubs, academies, women’s teams and Forces groups across a wide range of sports. Core programmes include rugby, football, hockey, netball and cricket, We welcome mixed-ability squads and can tier fixtures so everyone plays—development groups, A/B teams or festival formats. Tell us your aims (pre-season sharpness, tournament prep, enrichment week or end-of-year reward) and we’ll recommend destinations and schedules that fit your calendar, budget and standards. Whether you want short-haul value or long-haul adventure, we’ll shape a sports tour that matches your priorities and maximises participation across the whole group.
Begin with a quick brief: sport(s), preferred dates, numbers, age groups, budget and objectives. We’ll return a tailored itinerary and transparent pricing per traveler, with optional add-ons like extra games, coaching clinics or stadium visits. Together we refine the plan, then secure arrangements with an agreed deposit and staged payments. You’ll receive a clear timeline for forms, rooming lists and balances, plus templates for consent, fundraising and parent briefings. Before departure we issue final documents with confirmed fixtures, timings and contacts. Our goal is to keep planning simple and costs predictable—so you get a smooth, great-value sports tour that delivers competitive fixtures, memorable experiences and a stress-free organiser journey.

Testimonials

  • Bridgend Athletic RFC U14s, U12s & U8s had a great weekend attending The Big Devon Bash. Burleigh Travel are one of only a few tour companies who can arrange for these three age groups to attend the same festival, stay at the same venue whilst not being overpriced.
Many thanks to Chris, Scott, Carolyn and the rest of the Burleigh team for their assistance before and during the tour. It’s the second year we’ve used Burleigh travel and already looking to book again next year!

Wow, where to start? So this was our inaugural tour and we quite frankly didn't know where to begin, other than the fact we wanted to go to the Big Devon Bash. We needn't have worried, Burleigh were superb throughout the whole process. Any questions, they were quick to respond any clarifications, they cleared up in no time and were responsive and clear throughout. The accommodation was more than adequate. It was clean and comfortable enough. Food pretty good, activities for the kids, could maybe be a bit better suited to the age group, (ZIP lining was really well received but Aero ball didn't really get the boys too excited). We stayed at Barton Hall PGL in Torquay. The festival itself was really well organised and there was a great atmosphere throughout. There was a slight mismatch in our first pool game, but I suppose that will happen sometimes. Saturday night back at the accommodation was a really great atmosphere. A cracking band "The Sound", lots of after tournament stories shared and new friends made. Just a great experience all round. Cant wait for next year.

We used Burleigh travel to book a Rugby tour for 40 people (adults and children). The accommodation was great and the rugby tournament was well run with medals and a trophy for the best player. The staff were excellent and and always helpful over the phone and via email. We had to make changes along the way and they were always available and really accommodating and supportive.

Please pass on our thanks to your team and also everyone at PGL for a very good weekend. The PGL site and staff were easily the best activity/accommodation I have been to over the 8 of these tours I’ve been on – every request was taken with a smile and dealt with well, the food was good, accommodation frankly palatial compared to many.

The rugby on the Sunday was well run, the teams there all played hard but fair and in a good spirit and everyone was accommodating.

Thank you from Hitchin Rugby club.

Echo this!  My husband and son have come back smelly, tired but with huge smiles.

Thanks all so much for your hard work putting the weekend together.  We’ve had loads of smashing feedback and already a question on the dates for the next tour.

Big thanks to all the team,

I recently led a tour of Minchinhampton RFC Colts to Amsterdam for the Hilversum Rugby Festival. What a fantastic experience. The festival itself was on of the best I have ever been to. Superbly well organised and great fun. Rugby standard was perfect to.
Burleigh travels organisation of the trip was second to none. The bus was great, accommodation excellent for what we wanted and the guidance we received was perfect.

I cannot recommend it enough. Boys and parents were delighted. We have already booked for next year.

Thank you so much Chris Kite and the team at Burleigh
