General Rugby Festival Information
The Dorchester Mini Festival is well established and attracts teams from across the South West region. This year’s event had approximately 6 teams at each group ranging from U7s to U12s. With that many teams participating this festival will ensure a fantastic rugby experience for your players.
The event is taking place in October this year to give your team a chance to get away near the start of the season and bond as a team. Your accommodation is at the popular Freshwater Beach Holiday Park located just 200m from West Bay Beach on the Jurassic Coast and also with a large grass area which is ideal for a light training session or maybe enjoy some fun beach rugby during your stay on the beach made famous by the TV series Broadchurch.
There are plenty of on-site amenities to keep your group entertained, including the heated indoor pool with flume, Ten Pin Bowling, amusement arcade and pool tables. It also has fantastic evening entertainment to keep your group occupied after dark with acts such as cabarets and magic shows.
Your Rugby Tour Itinerary
Friday TBC March 2021
You will depart your club and travel by coach to your accommodation and as the children will be off school you may wish to depart early to make the most of the day. Check in is available from 4pm however the onsite facilities such as the indoor pool will be available throughout the day. The remainder of the day and night free to explore the park and use your leisure and entertainment passes.
Saturday TBC March 2021
You have Saturday free to explore the local area. There are some fantastic options available to you such as Monkey World, Weymouth Sea-life Park, Bovington Tank Museum, Crealy Great Adventure Park and a Dinosaur Museum.
Sunday TBC March 2021
| Here a full day’s rugby will take place at Dorchester Rugby Club. You will initially compete in groups before progressing to cup and plate competitions and the format will be arranged to allow your team the maximum amount of game time in line with RFU regulations. There will be food available throughout the day and once the tournament is complete and prizes awarded you will return to your accommodation to continue your celebrations. |
