West Country Challenge 2024

Our 2024 West Country Challenge, in April, was a fantastic day. We had over 50 teams, 80+ games and more than 2,000 people attend. Thank you to all those who helped make the weekend a memorable experience for all involved.

When the groups weren’t playing rugby they also had the opportunity to take full advantage of the facilities at their holiday park and nearby beach, keeping them entertained off the field as well!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone again for their continued support.

We are looking forward our 2025 event, which will be held on 11th – 14th April.

We used Burleigh travel to book a Rugby tour for 40 people (adults and children). The accommodation was great and the rugby tournament was well run with medals and a trophy for the best player. The staff were excellent and and always helpful over the phone and via email. We had to make changes along the way and they were always available and really accomodating and supportive.

Touring with Burleigh Travel is so easy from start to finish. The company provides excellent literature in reference to the tour itinerary, what you read is what you get. As a club we have travelled 3 times with Burleigh. Once many years ago and twice this year and last year. When you arrive on the tour you are greeted at the arrival meeting then on the rugby festival day the staff are at the tent to register you and are available throughout the festival for response to any questions you may have. At the festival the company work hard to match clubs in games so as they are equally matched.
Overall we at Pinner RFC have had a great experience when using Burleigh Travel, and will look at their tours that are available for the 2024 tour season.

Wow, where to start? So this was our inaugural tour and we quite frankly didn't know where to begin, other than the fact we wanted to go to the Big Devon Bash. We needn't have worried, Burleigh were superb throughout the whole process. Any questions, they were quick to respond any clarifications, they cleared up in no time and were responsive and clear throughout. The accommodation was more than adequate. It was clean and comfortable enough. Food pretty good, activities for the kids, could maybe be a bit better suited to the age group, (ZIP lining was really well received but Aero ball didn't really get the boys too excited). We stayed at Barton Hall PGL in Torquay. The festival itself was really well organised and there was a great atmosphere throughout. There was a slight mismatch in our first pool game, but I suppose that will happen sometimes. Saturday night back at the accommodation was a really great atmosphere. A cracking band "The Sound", lots of after tournament stories shared and new friends made. Just a great experience all round. Cant wait for next year.

Bridgend Athletic RFC U14s, U12s & U8s had a great weekend attending The Big Devon Bash. Burleigh Travel are one of only a few tour companies who can arrange for these three age groups to attend the same festival, stay at the same venue whilst not being overpriced.
Many thanks to Chris, Scott, Carolyn and the rest of the Burleigh team for their assistance before and during the tour. It’s the second year we’ve used Burleigh travel and already looking to book again next year!
