With the touring season now in full swing, we kicked off our 2025 events last weekend with the Bournemouth Mini & Junior Festival, kindly hosted by Oakmeadians RFC and Swanage & Wareham RFC.
The weekend saw over 1000 tourists participate in a combination of activities, rugby, evening entertainment and fun on the Dorset coast, while staying at the picturesque PGL Osmington Bay site.
Arrival Day
The groups checked into their accommodation on Friday evening with the backdrop of a sun drenched Osmington Bay and the fun started immediately with a hearty dinner, evening activity for the players and an evening relaxing in the bars and function rooms at Osmington Bay for the parents and coaches.
Activites. Rugby & Live Music
On Saturday morning some groups travelled to Oakmeadians RFC for an additional day of rugby, while the rest stayed at PGL to take part in the activities put on by their experienced and fully qualified team. With the players being well supervised the parents can enjoy the short coastal path walk to the thatched roof, 17th century Smuggler’s Inn.
Then in the evening, after dinner, the touring groups were entertained by the fantastic band, The Sound, in the main function room and bar area.

Main Festival & Awards
Sunday saw the main festival day, where all teams travelled to Swanage & Wareham RFC for a jam packed, sunny day of rugby, where they played at least 4 or 5 games each within their age grade’s maximum rugby allowance, against opposition from all over the UK.

Our Bournemouth Mini Rugby Festival 2026 and our Bournemouth Junior Rugby Festival 2026 are RFU approved so you can be assured that they will be run in line with the governing bodies’ guidelines to ensure a safe and secure environment for your team.
