Devon Big Bash 2025: A Festival of Rugby, Fun & Community
The 2025 Devon Big Bash Mini and Junior Festival returned in style this May, hosted once again by the fantastic team at Ivybridge Rugby Club. With over 60 teams travelling from across the UK, this year’s event proved to be one of the biggest and best yet.
Many teams chose to stay at Barton Hall PGL in Torquay, a buzzing hub of excitement throughout the weekend. Teams began arriving Friday afternoon, greeted with a warm meal courtesy of Barton Hall’s catering team, and a lively atmosphere with a bar open for both kids and adults to unwind after the journey. For a more flexible option we also have our local holiday parks that are jam packed with things to do throughout your tour, whether it is access to the indoor swimming pool or a favourite of ours ‘Adventure Crazy Golf’ and a load more to do outside the festival!!!
Saturday kicked off with a full day of Junior rugby under clear skies and blazing sunshine. Ivybridge RFC’s three pristine pitches provided the perfect stage for the action. Meanwhile, the Mini teams had the day to enjoy Barton Hall’s fantastic facilities, from swimming and team-building activities to light training sessions in preparation for their matches on Sunday. Some of these activities that took place ranged from Abseiling to Trapeze & Climbing.
One of the highlights of the weekend was the energy and creativity brought by the touring teams decked out in themed costumes from “Where’s Wally” to “El Mexicana” and even had the case of “Saturday Night Fever.” It was a colourful celebration of rugby spirit and camaraderie.
As the tournament got underway, spectators were treated to high-quality rugby, impressive tries, bone-crunching tackles, and outstanding sportsmanship from all teams. The day rounded off with a live band performance and a viewing party for the Champions Cup semi-final, bringing everyone together to celebrate the sport they love.
Sunday saw a shift as the Juniors got to relax and enjoy the rest of their tour. Whilst those at the PGL centre took part in activities, the holiday park tourists had a free day to visit nearby Adrenalin Quarry or go for a swim in the onsite pool. Meanwhile the Minis took to the pitch continuing the determination and display of commitment towards the rugby TREDS of the day before into a fantastic finale for a memorable weekend.
Whether on or off the pitch, the 2025 Devon Big Bash was a weekend full of unforgettable moments, new friendships, and a shared passion for rugby. Here’s to another great year and we can’t wait for 2026!

Our Devon Big Bash Mini Rugby Festival 2026 and Devon Big Bash Junior Rugby Festival 2026 are RFU approved so you can be assured that they will be run in line with the governing bodies’ guidelines to ensure a safe and secure environment for your team.
While the rugby aspect is clearly a key factor at our Devon Big Bash Mini and Junior Rugby festival 2026, it is equally important to allow your players time to enjoy fun activities with their friends, as from our rugby festival feedback surveys this is one of the most important factors for them and it is often cited as one of the highlights of the weekend.
We also appreciate a Mini and Junior rugby festival format is not for everyone, so if you prefer a fixture-based tour which can be combined with an activity or watching top flight rugby then have a look at our Premiership Rugby Weekends 2026, as this is a very popular alternative to our Mini and Junior 2026 rugby festival options.
With our mini and junior rugby festivals 2026 becoming so popular many clubs return year after year meaning space at our events for new clubs to participate in is fairly limited, so the earlier you can make your enquiry the higher the chance will be to secure your space at one of our 2026 mini and junior rugby festivals or events. We can also tailor your tour to suit your individual requirements so please feel free to contact us to discuss what you have in mind.
This event sold at at the start of the season this year and we expect it to be popular again in 2026, so please get in touch to book your team in for next year.
