With the first Dearne Valley Easter festival taken place last weekend it is great to have a look at what went on. We had 10 different groups go away on this weekend, of varring age groups from U10’s up to U16. Most Teams arrived at Dearne Vally early afternoon and there was no time to wasted and as they were checked in and shown to their accommodation. As soon as the bags have hit the floor it was straight to the first of three activities that day.
There is a huge variety of activities available at the Dearne Valley Centre that our groups took part in, including are; Abseiling, Archery, learning how to make a campfire, Wall Climbing, Create Stacking, Jacobs Ladder, Laser Tag, Zip Line, Problem Solving and many more! All of these are included in the tour cost and scheduled into your action packed itinary and led by the enthusiastic and qualified Dearne Valley team. After dinner the tour orginisers enjoyed the Burleigh Travel reception party with complementary wine and cheese hosted by the Burleigh Travel staff. This is where all the festival details were given out and a chance to mingle with the coaches from the other clubs.
Saturday was another action packed day with ten activities with breakfast, lunch and dinner timetabled in between the activities. After dinner Burleigh Travel put on a live band to entertain the group.
On the Sunday Burliegh Travel organised a rugby tournament at the amazing Doncaster Knights RFC facilities. We had four different age groups at the festival from U12’s to U15’s with a mixture of local sides and touring teams. With the U15’s age group getting the opportunity to play on the Championship level main pitch. The festival ran smoothly with players enjoying competing against teams that has not played against before.
Next year we are running events at Dearne Valley in the Easter school holidays on the 12th April 2019, Also on the 5th May which is the Bank Holiday weekend.
