General Rugby Festival Information
The Torquay Festival of Rugby is going to be held over the first weekend of the Easter school holidays. Here you will be based in Torquay Holiday Park where you will have a great opportunity to take advantage of the brilliant on site facilities that will be sure to keep the group entertained. Some of these activities are a complete heated indoor pool with a flume and spa baths, table tennis, crazy golf, multisports court and arcades.
This itinerary is appropriate for teams aged U7 - U14, but the festival is also available for U15 & U16 teams based on alternative accommodation - please contact us for details.
Located on the English Rivera, 22 miles of beautiful Devonshire coastline, Torquay has so much to offer to those looking to get out and explore the locality. Paignton Zoo is a short 20 minute drive from the accommodation and if one day of rugby isn't enough why not watch Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park in the Gallagher Premiership, (subject to fixtures schedule) to cap of a fanastic weekend on the south coast.
Your Rugby Tour Itinerary
Friday 3rd April 2020
You will depart at your leisure and make your way to Torquay where on arvial you will be able to make use of the onsite facilities; such as the indoor pool. That evening your team can enjoy the onsite entertainment provided by the park, with their Parkdean Troopers Showtime Entertainment programme. If you are looking for pre-planned meal options, why not arrange for the accommodation to provide hog roast for you and your group to enjoy!
Saturday 4th April 2020
In the morning your group will enjoy a sports activity programme, which is included in your tour cost, for all players who are booked on to the tour package. The programme will take place for around 2-3 hours and will include fun activities such as football, rounders, orienteering, dodgeball and creative competions.
In the afternoon you may like to make the short journey to watch Exeter Chiefs play at Sandy Park (subject to availability and fixture schedule). Prepare yourselves for a sea of feathered head dresses, tomahawks and a spine tingling atmosphere both pre and post-match as the Chief’s chant fills the stadium. Alternatively, you may wish to visit The Bear Trail which is Devon’s award-winning family assault course. With 28 obstacles, players, siblings and parents can scramble over the bear nets, zip down the zip wire and tumble through the tunnels. With an onsite café and seated area, this is a fantastic option for the whole group to enjoy.
After a fun day you will have the chance to enjoy the park’s evening entertainment with a range of shows and music. The Broadway Club has an extensive entertainment package, with big screens, sparkling costumes and spectacular choreography. If you are looking for something a little more relaxed why not enjoy some drinks on the terrace at the Bay View Bar while the children enjoy the playground and multisport court.
Sunday 5th April 2020
You will depart from your accommodation in the morning and head off to Exmouth RFC for your for an exciting day of festival rugby for U7 – U15 teams.
After the event you will make your way back to the park to enjoy the evening entertainment or run a tour court.
Monday 6th April 2020
You have the morning to enjoy the Park’s facilities, or explore one of the local beaches, before making your way home from a fantastic weekend of rugby.
