The annual Sir Garfield Sobers International Schools Cricket Tournament was established in 1986 and named after the renowned Barbadian cricketer and National Hero Sir Garfield Sobers.

Taking place every year for U18 teams in Barbados in July the tournament lasts two weeks and is based on 40 over matches. It gives your team the unique opportunity to play in a prestigious international tournament. Teams from all over the world participate in this fantastic event and some of the world’s top players have taken part in their youth such as Brian Lara, Sherwin Campbell, Dale Benkenstein and Alastair Cook.

This year Sir Garfield Sobers is travelling to the UK to meet with and speak to schools who may be interested in taking part in this event. This is a fantastic opportunity for staff and pupils alike to meet one for the games greatest players. At the moment the schedule for his tour is:
• 04 to 09 June – Northern Tour
• 12 to 16 June – Midlands Tour
• 19 to 22 June – London & East Tour
• 26 to 30 June – Southern Tour
If your school would be interested in hosting him please get in touch.

Barbados is one of the most beautiful and idyllic destinations we have on offer for tours. While not competing in the tournament your team can enjoy it’s stunning white beach, take a catamaran cruise on it’s crystal clear seas, take a safari tour of the island, swim with turtles and much more. The people of Barbados are renowned for their hospitality so where you choose to explore you are sure to be greeted with a smile.
