Octoberfest is Burleigh Travel’s newest and most exiting event in the under 16’s calendar. The weekend is designed to allow sides who normally travel in April, but are unable to do so this year due to GCSE’s the opportunity to carry on the touring tradition with a tour to remember with a break from the traditional holiday parks with arcades and limited outdoor facilities that you many have tried before. We are offering you a combination of exhilarating team building activities and an action packed day of rugby at your nearby host club.
You will be staying at Dearne Valley which is located in the beautiful rolling hills of South Yorkshire. This fantastic state of the art activity centre is spread over 50 acres of grass and woodland, with a range of challenging apparatus such as zip lines, climbing walls, high ropes and a leap of faith. The Kingswood centres won the award for the Best Residential Experience at the last School Travel Awards.
All of these activities take place in a safe and secure environment, and all of which are included in your tour package. The whole weekend is tailored to give your players a unique team building experience. You will never have experienced a sports tour quite like this!
Sample Itinerary
On Friday you will set off after school, (or earlier if you can) to arrive at Dearne Valley early evening. Here you will be greeted by the Dearne Valley staff who will help you get checked in and show you to your accommodation. After you have had time to settle in you will meet up for dinner and evening activities.
On Saturday after breakfast, there will be a full day of team building activities where you will be taking part in activities that challenge you mentally and physical. But also being able to work together as a team, all of these attributes are what is needed for success on the pitch.
On Sunday you will take part in the Octoberfest U16’s Rugby Festival. The day will see you compete against both local and touring teams, in a day designed to offer you the most amount of rugby allowed by the RFU. There will be food and drink facilities on site, and an awards presentation at the end of the event.
